Dear Fellow Patriot,

Fingerprint databases. Statist licensing schemes. Hefty fees.

The never-ending bureaucratic application and reapplication process. Plastic-coated permission slips.

Sometimes it seems the roadblocks and regulations anti-gun activists and their political allies have thrown up to discourage law-abiding South Dakotans from carrying a concealed firearm are endless.

Well, guess what! They meant it that way.

The gun grabbers know good and well that criminals don’t ask for permission to legally carry a firearm!

Their overbearing and unconstitutional “regulations” and “requirements” are meant to do nothing more than undermine the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens just like you.

I don't know about you, but I think it’s time SDGO Second Amendment supporters said, “Enough is enough!”

Please take a moment to sign this petition to your state lawmakers right away.

For freedom,

Ray Lautenschlager

Executive Director

PETITION TO PASS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY IN SOUTH DAKOTA

TO MY STATE REPRESENTATIVES AND STATE SENATOR

Whereas: The Right of the People to keep and bear arms is protected both by the U.S. Constitution and by the Constitution of the State of South Dakota; and
Whereas: This unalienable right clearly includes the right to carry a handgun for self-defense; and
Whereas: Requiring law-abiding citizens to ask government permission through the permit system before they can exercise their constitutional right to arms is a clear violation of that right; and
Whereas: Real-life experience and extensive research both clearly demonstrate that restricting the right to bear arms in self-defense only encourages violent crime;
Therefore: I respectfully urge you as my elected official to publicly support, co-sponsor, and vote for Constitutional Carry. South Dakota Gun Owners will keep me informed about your votes and actions.
